The Adolescent Family Life Program
& Cal Learn Program
Sutter Women's Services
At Sutter, we believe strongly that taking care of the children of our community is vital to its health and well-being. And when those children find themselves soon-to-be parents, we are there to help them and their babies get off to a good start and stay on the path to a bright future. Our Women's Services Program at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento reaches out to Sacramento County teens that are pregnant or parenting through two comprehensive case management programs: The Adolescent Family Life Program and the Cal Learn Program. The programs are free to young parents and offer them access to practical information and ongoing support.
Our goals include:- To reduce the incidence of low birth weight babies
- To maximize educational potential
- To reduce the incidence of repeat unplanned pregnancy
- To foster positive parenting skills in young parents
If you would like to refer teens to the program or have questions, please contact the Program Manager, Elaine Ellers, at (916) 285-4603.
